"EuroSPIN (European Seamless
Passenger Information Network) is part funded by the European
Commission’s ‘Telematics Applications Programme’."
"EuroSPIN is a two-year project to acquire and disseminate
seamless, multi-modal
public transport travel information using Internet technologies. The
project will design
and develop an intelligent system which will be capable of providing
arrival/departure
times, connecting services and journey plans to passengers using a
variety of
transport modes for metropolitan, regional, national, European and even
for global
levels.
With English, Finnish and Dutch participants this web site will soon be
available in
three languages."

"The Community of European
Railways (CER), created in 1988 and based in Brussels, brings together
the 25 main railway undertakings and rail infrastructure managing bodies
of the European Union plus Norway and Switzerland.
It promotes the development of railway transport as essential to the
creation of a transport system which is both efficient and
environmentally sound. In this respect it acts as the railways’
collective voice for decision-makers at EU-level."

Links to timetables and railway maps,
especially in Europe
|
|
|
"This page contains links to some
useful sources of information for travellers by rail. Some provide
timetables and even maps while others are useful for general information
and route finding. These sources are generally in English and some are
maintained by enthusiasts rather than the Railway Companies themselves.
Details should always be checked with the relevant Company."

"The citizens of Dresden and
their visitors are able to take advantage of a comprehensive network of
public transport services. Go on a tour of discovery through the City

Wohin
geht die Reise? Die Deutsche Bahn zwischen Krise und Unternehmen
Zukunft. Von Albert Schmidt / Karl-Heinz Rochlitz
|
